REPORT: Popular tumbler brand under fire after conservative group’s order gets canceled

From Fox Business: Thermal cup brand YETI has come under fire on social media for refusing to fulfill an order for a young women’s nonprofit leadership organization.

In emails obtained exclusively by FOX Business, the brand had previously fulfilled an order for the Clare Boothe Luce Center (CBL) worth $3,797.84 in May of last year with the same exact logo customization.

The Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women in northern Virginia, a nonprofit, describes itself as “an all-women organization that specializes in the conservative outreach, education, and mentorship of young women.” The center is named after Clare Boothe Luce, herself a celebrated playwright, congresswoman and ambassador to Italy.

The report explains that the organization has been giving the custom mugs as a gift to each speaker at their events. Their supply was running low, so they placed a new order last week, on March 20. Suddenly, Yeti cancelled the order, and later admitted it was because of the term “conservative women” in the logo.

CBL explained the shocking development in a series of posts on X:

Soooo @YETICoolers cancelled us.

We thought cancel culture went out with 2024 but here we are. This is what happened…

This is our Yeti mug that we’ve ordered in bulk from Yeti before. We needed a restock so we ordered them again and everything seemed to be going smoothly.

We received multiple confirmation emails saying that our order was being processed and all was set to go.

But then we got denied. Cancelled. Our order was cancelled because our logo includes the phrase: “conservative women.”

This cancellation was sent AFTER the confirmation emails, and even after our payment.

We talked on the phone today with a Yeti sales manager and she told us that the phrase “conservative women” is on “the political aisle” so they cannot provide us with the product.

Now, keep in mind that we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means that, legally, we are non political.

We are an educational organization that works to help young women become strong, conservative leaders. Our organization provides young women with many opportunities through our programs which include: internships, national student summits, campus lectures, and firearms training.

Our mission includes a commitment to promoting strong conservative women who serve as healthy role models for young women everywhere.

We ordered the EXACT same product from Yeti last year with no problems. Nothing is different—their terms haven’t changed in the last 10 years. We submitted payment and got all the confirmation emails.

This is ridiculous. Yeti, do better.

Social media is reacting, with many calling for a boycott of Yeti, and others saying they are throwing away all their products.

Several people are suggesting conservatives should buy from Patriot Coolers instead.
