From Fox News: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem tapped a new director and deputy director to lead U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as she works to reinstate a culture of results and accountability under President Donald Trump’s administration.
Noem announced the appointments on Sunday, saying Todd Lyons will serve as acting ICE director, and Madison Sheahan will serve as the deputy director of ICE.
“For the past four years, our brave men and women of ICE were barred from doing their jobs—ICE needs a culture of accountability that it has been starved of under the Biden Administration,” Noem said. “Todd Lyons and Madison Sheahan are work horses, strong executors, and accountable leaders who will lead the men and women of ICE to achieve the American people’s mandate to target, arrest and deport illegal aliens.”

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin praised Noem’s choice:
DHS Secretary Noem announced today that Todd Lyons will lead ICE as its acting director & will be tasked to carry out the Trump admin’s deportation plans.
Lyons is close w/ Tom Homan & led ICE’s elite Boston field office until last year. He is well respected within ICE & frequently joined his guys out in the field on their operations. He spent 8 years in the U.S. Air Force and in U.S. Special Operations command. He then went into civilian law enforcement, and was a SWAT team sniper.
I met Lyons last year when I embedded with him & his Boston ICE team. Their intel gathering was remarkable. They knew where every single target was going to be, almost down to the exact minute, and they arrested 4 alleged child rapists and a violent MS-13 gang member in a single morning. He is very outspoken against sanctuary policies and has extensive experience dealing with them in Boston & Massachusetts.
I got several texts from ICE contacts today who are excited to have Lyons at the helm.
He has a big task ahead of him, as President Trump wants large numbers of deportations, and ICE only has about 5,500 ERO (enforcement and removal officers) nationwide. ICE’s non detained docket had exploded to 7.7 million by the end of Biden’s presidency. ICE will need more resources and manpower – which will be up to Congress.
