From Fox News: Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz currently has a higher favorability rating than Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, among voters, according to a new 2024 survey on the vice presidential candidates.

A new Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos survey found that Walz is favored by 39% of Americans, compared to Vance’s 32%, while 30% have an unfavorable opinion of Walz.

However, Americans may still be forming an opinion of Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, as 31% of respondents did not answer the question.

Additionally, 44% of Americans said they disapprove of Walz as Harris’ running mate.

ABC News announced: There is room to move. Sizable shares in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates with fieldwork by Ipsos, have no opinion of either candidate — 31% for Walz, the governor of Minnesota, and 26% for Vance, a U.S. senator from Ohio.

Among Independents, 42% support Vance, compared to 49% who support Walz, according to the ABC/Washington Post survey.

ABC further reported:

Despite a dispute over Walz’s characterization of his military service, his favorability rating is similar from veterans (41%) and non-veterans (39%) alike. Vance’s favorability rating is 48% among veterans, and 56% of veterans approve of his selection, as do 50% for Walz (not a significant difference given the sample size). Veterans are 12 points more likely than non-veterans to be Republicans or Republican-leaning independents.

Approval of the vice presidential picks breaks along expected partisan and ideological lines. Eighty-two percent of Republicans and 77% of conservatives approve of the Vance pick. For Walz, it’s a rosier 92% approval among Democrats and 87% among liberals.
