MSNBC temporarily took ‘Morning Joe’ off the air following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Trump was speaking at the rally when he was struck in the ear by gunfire, prompting Secret Service agents to quickly rush him off the stage. The incident left Trump with a bloodied face and resulted in the death of one rally attendee and critical injuries to two others.
The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was immediately killed by Secret Service agents.
In light of these events, MSNBC decided to suspend ‘Morning Joe’ to avoid any potentially inappropriate comments on the show, which is known for its critical stance towards Trump. The network aimed to ensure that discussions about the incident were handled with the appropriate sensitivity. The show is expected to resume on Tuesday.
It’s a huge day in politics and MSNBC has pulled ‘Morning Joe’ off the air. They’re apparently worried the MJ crew might say something ‘inappropriate’ about the Trump assassination attempt. From CNN: https://t.co/uK3u0ZIoU9 pic.twitter.com/AS8E4b5FdQ

WOW @NBCNews @MSNBC yanked Morning Joe off the air this morning over concerns its hosts would go off the rails – this may be the first sane programming decision made at MSNBC in Decades

WOW: MSNBC pulled Morning Joe off the air yesterday because they feared one of their usual stable of about two dozen guests would say something dumb after Trump was shot.
Is MSNBC admitting their show’s rhetoric helped spawn the type of violence we saw on Saturday? https://t.co/YmlbF6f7il
