From the Washington Examiner: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) fueled speculation that she is considering an uphill bid against Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) next year in a weekend fundraising email that described a possible campaign as the “biggest fight of my life.”
Greene, who overcame media and Democratic smears and sneers to win her House seat in 2020 and eventually become influential in the GOP caucus, said in the email that she would take her direction from supporters and donors.
“Before anything further happens — before I move to the next step — I need to hear from you. I need to know if I should run for Senate in Georgia, and if I should I need to know if I will have your support or not,” she said.
“This would be the biggest fight of my life, the most important, the most brutal, and the most high-stakes,” said her email, which added, “The radical left, the fake news media, the RINOs, the globalist billionaires — they would all come after me with everything they’ve got. But I’m not afraid of them. I’m only afraid of running this race without the full support of the America First patriots who have had my back since day one.”
Greene tore into Ossoff while speaking to the media last week.
Sharing a video of the interview, Greene wrote, “Senator Jon Ossoff and his Democrat colleagues support open borders and men competing in women’s sports. This November, the American people soundly rejected the left’s gender insanity and made it clear that they want illegal alien thugs out of our country. Americans want President Trump’s MAGA America First agenda. Not whatever garbage Ossoff and the Democrat party are selling.”
When the reporter asked if she was considering running against Ossoff, Greene replied, “All options are open to me.”
