From the Daily Mail: Kamala Harris’s husband was ‘inappropriate’ and ‘misogynistic’ at work, his former colleagues tell DailyMail.com.

Attorneys who worked with Doug Emhoff at his former firm Venable say he yelled expletives, held a men-only cocktail hour in the office, revoked work perks from women who didn’t flirt with him, and took only young, attractive associates in a limousine to a ball.

A 2019 lawsuit also claimed sex discrimination by other partners in the LA office Emhoff ran, and that while engaged to Harris, he hired an ‘unqualified’ part-time model as a legal secretary ‘because she was young, attractive and friendly with the powerful men in the office’.

The claims are the latest in a string of allegations revealed by DailyMail.com that threaten to shatter Emhoff’s image, heavily promoted by the Harris presidential campaign, of a feminist ally and ‘wife guy’.

In August DailyMail.com revealed the Los Angeles lawyer cheated on his first wife and got his daughter’s grade school teacher-cum-nanny pregnant.

In addition, the Daily Mail uncovered claims that Emhoff slapped his ex-girlfriend when accusing her of flirting with a valet worker at a ritzy gala in 2012.

Now, in the latest bombshell expose, the Daily Mail has revealed that Emhoff’s “former colleagues from the Venable Los Angeles office, which he ran from 2006 to 2017, are coming forward with allegations about his ‘inappropriate’ and ‘a**hole’ behavior in the workplace.”

The report describes multiple inappropriate situations as Emhoff’s former colleagues have come forward to blow the whistle on him.

However, they all spoke on condition of anonymity, as they fear retaliation, the report states.

Daily Mail reporter Josh Boswell shared important highlights from the report on social media. He wrote:

I spoke to @DouglasEmhoff ‘s ex-colleagues at @VenableLLP. They claimed he was ‘misogynistic’, ‘sexist’ and an ‘a**hole’ to women. Go to DailyMail .com for the full story. Here’s the highlights.

Emhoff allegedly told one female Venable partner to ‘get the f*** out my office’ – then bragged to top firm executives that he ‘put her in her place’.

One staffer claimed he was very ‘flirty’ with young, female staff. But if you didn’t flirt back, she said, you were put on his ‘sh** list’, with tighter deadlines and less desirable cases.

Others alleged he held a men-only Friday night cocktail hour in the office, until bosses put a stop to it.

And one female ex-Venable attorney said he favored young, pretty, female associates – including taking them in a limousine to a ball.

A 2019 lawsuit claimed he presided over sex discrimination by two other male partners at the LA office, which he ran from 2006 to 2017.

The lawsuit said he hired an ‘unqualified’ part-time model as a legal secretary ‘because she was young, attractive and friendly with the powerful men in the office.’

It should be noted that the secretary, Katya Calderone, has a paralegal certificate from UCLA and worked in law firms since 2008. She was also pictured in GQ magazine, at a Playboy Mansion party, and in a ‘bikes and babes’ fashion shoot.

When Emhoff left Venable in 2017, she went with him to DLA Piper.

So why do these allegations against Emhoff matter? Because Kamala Harris and her allies have often said that powerful or influential men should be held to account for any alleged bad treatment of women.

Kamala Harris is making women’s rights a big part of her presidential campaign, and is getting her husband to do lots of interviews where he claims to be a feminist. These allegations make us question whether that’s the truth.

Emhoff, the Harris campaign, the White House, Venable, and Calderone have not responded to my requests for comment.

Amid all the newly-surfacing allegations, MSNBC host Jen Psaki gushed over Emhoff last week, telling him his role as Second Gentleman has “reshaped the perception of masculinity.”

Former President Donald Trump reacted to the bombshell stories about Emhoff.
