From the Washington Free Beacon: Former vice president Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff purchased an $8 million mansion in an exclusive oceanside Malibu neighborhood last month. The move came after Harris spent years warning that such communities could be threatened by the “climate crisis.”
A real estate listing for the mansion, reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, says the luxury pad is “perched in a prime coastal location” with “breathtaking ocean views.” The property sits right near a coastline that—according to climate scenarios endorsed by Harris—is at risk of facing extreme flooding. A climate model issued by the Biden-Harris administration determined that Point Dume State Beach, the beach a short walk from Harris’s new property, would be severely damaged by sea level rise even under the model’s most modest projections. The Trump administration discontinued that model in June 2025.
The purchase, which was first reported by the New York Post, calls into question Harris’s earnestness when discussing the threats posed by what she calls the “climate crisis.”
“Our oceans are warming. Sea levels are rising,” Harris wrote during her short-lived presidential campaign in 2019. “Extreme weather is destroying our communities. We are poisoning the planet.”
The Free Beacon provided a “Flashback” video, as Harris, in 2022, announced the Biden administration would invest $50 million “to protect low-lying neighborhoods from sea level rise and storm surge.” The next year, she warned that to “live in a coastal community is to live on the front lines of the climate crisis.”
Fast-forward: Now, Harris and her husband have just purchased an $8 million oceanside mansion in Malibu.

A statement on Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign website wildly claimed, “Our oceans are warming. Sea levels are rising. Pollution is threatening our air and water. Droughts are hurting our crops. Fires are burning our forests. Extreme weather is destroying our communities. We are poisoning the planet.”

The Free Beacon also recalled a memory from Harris’ time as a U.S. Senator:
In the Senate, she cosponsored the Living Shorelines Act, which called to earmark $50 million annually for combating rising sea levels because they threaten “thousands of coastal communities and economies.”
Weeks after introducing that bill, Harris shared a Washington Post article on social media, noting that the story and its accompanying analysis show the nation is facing rising sea levels, extreme weather, and higher temperatures. The article stated that Ventura County, Calif.—home to Harris’s recently acquired mansion—has warmed 2.6 degrees Celsius since 1895, more than any other county evaluated using federal data.

The Free Beacon also points out that the ritzy new oceanside mansion Harris just purchased includes some luxurious features, such as a gas-powered stove and fireplace – items that the Biden-Harris administration were trying to regulate out of existence.
Harris reportedly paid $8.15 million for the 4,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in Point Dume, an elite neighborhood in Malibu. According to an online listing, the house was built in 1979, and sits on three quarters of an acre.
