From Breitbart: The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested an illegal alien gang member who was previously convicted of kidnapping, torturing, and murdering a man in New Mexico.
Yorvis Michel Carrascal Campo, an illegal alien from Venezuela who is also a member of Tren de Aragua, was arrested by ICE agents in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on January 8.
In June 2024, several Tren de Aragua gang members — including Campo — viciously kidnapped a man in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and tortured him before strangling him to death. The gang members then put the man’s body in a suitcase and buried him in a remote location in New Mexico.
According to a DHS press release, Campo, who first crossed the southern border in October 2023, was released into the U.S. interior by the Biden administration. On June 11, 2024, Campo was given a final deportation order by a federal immigration judge, but he was never deported.
Just 5 days after his deportation order, on June 16, 2024, is the date he allegedly participated in the gruesome murder of the man in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who the mob of 11 TdA gang members lured to an apartment, assaulted, strangled and killed, then stuffed the body in a suitcase.
Campo is now in ICE custody, awaiting deportation.
On December 18, the Justice Department shared extensive details of the horrific Albuquerque murder in a press release.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the shadow of international gang violence darkened a Colorado Springs neighborhood as law enforcement hunted down Yorvis Michel Carrascal Campo, a suspected member of the ruthless Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA). The arrest, which forced terrified residents into a shelter-in-place, stems from a depraved 2024 New Mexico case where Carrascal Campo and his associates allegedly kidnapped and strangled a victim to death, photographing the body for their leaders before stuffing it into a suitcase to be buried in the desert.
While these violent actors operate with a chilling disregard for life, their presence in our backyard is no accident. Critics argue these illegal aliens are essentially welcomed here by Colorado Democrats, whose “sanctuary” leanings have created a haven for those who flout our laws. By passing state mandates that order local law enforcement to stop working with ICE, Democratic leaders have effectively severed the hands of those meant to protect us. These policies prevent the sharing of critical information and the honoring of federal detainers, ensuring that even the most dangerous individuals can remain hidden within the community.
The result is a grim reality where the safety of law-abiding citizens is sacrificed for political ideology. Because local police are barred from coordinating with federal immigration authorities, our neighborhoods have become hunting grounds for foreign gangs, leaving families stuck being victimized by criminals who were never supposed to be here. As TdA’s influence spreads, the blood on the hands of the cartel is increasingly mirrored by the policy decisions that allow them to stay.
