From Fox News: Shortly after the assassination attempt on former President Trump, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was invited to speak at the Republican National Convention.

However, before that, Hogan said his support for Trump was majorly silent.

In reflecting on that, Hogan said he felt like a “coward” because of that.

“I was one of these guys that was a coward. I was one of these guys that wouldn’t put a Trump sign on my yard, wouldn’t wear the Trump shirt, the Trump hat, because I was afraid what might happen or whatever. But after they took that shot and tried to kill him, that was it,” Hogan said on WWE wrestler Logan Paul’s podcast.

Hogan revealed that preparing for his speech at the RNC was difficult for him, because organizers wanted him to rehearse and time his speech, and read it from a prewritten copy.

“I tried to do what they wanted me to do, but I couldn’t do it. And I started losing my confidence, I started freaking,” he said, explaining that he’s never rehearse anything.

“They screwed me up so bad I almost couldn’t talk. … They wanted me to read this copy, and I’m like, ‘I don’t even speak like this.’ I got to the point where I was self-conscious,” he said.

Hogan said he went mostly unscripted during his speech.  It ended up being one of the most powerful speeches of the event.

Below is the moment when Hogan ripped his jacket off and tore his shirt to reveal a red Trump-Vance shirt underneath.

Below is the full podcast in which Hogan discusses his now-viral RNC speech. It is set to start at the 10:30-minute mark, when he begans speaking about Trump.

He also reveals details on when he first met Trump in the late 1980s.

Speaking to Fox News host Bret Baier at the RNC in July, Hogan said, “I got tired of remaining silent. I sat back and watch the border collapse, I watched the economy collapse, I watch the price of gas and the price of food just do an upside down flip… When they took a shot at my hero Donald Trump, I realized that I couldn’t be silent anymore.“
