REPORT: House passes bill requiring deportation of illegal alien sex offenders, 158 Democrats voted against it

From the Washington Examiner: The House passed a bill on Wednesday that would require the federal government to deport illegal immigrants who have a criminal history involving domestic violence and sex offenses.

The Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), passed the lower chamber 266 to 158, with 51 Democrats joining all Republicans to advance the measure. The legislation, if signed into law, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act so that “aliens” convicted of or who have committed sex offenses or domestic violence are “inadmissible and deportable.”

Mace, who has frequently spoken out against her party for its treatment of women, said in an op-ed to the South Carolina-based Post and Courier last week that she had “enough of weak-kneed politicians pointing at dubious data and making excuses for illegal immigrants who come into our country and rape and murder women and children.”

“H.R.7909 is about common sense — a trait sorely lacking in Washington these days,” Mace wrote. “This bill ensures predators who pose a threat and have been previously convicted of sexual assault, domestic violence and other heinous crimes are turned away or immediately deported.”

“The legislation makes sure those who pose a threat are kicked out before they can cause more harm,” Mace declared. “It’s time to stop coddling criminals and start standing up for the innocent victims who deserve justice and families who deserve peace of mind.”

Thursday morning, Mace wrote on social media, “Good morning. Wondering how well the 158 Leftists who voted to keep illegal alien rapists and women beaters on our soil slept last night?”

Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) announced, “There have been 52,058 arrests of illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds — including those convicted of domestic violence. Tonight, 158 Democrats voted AGAINST H.R. 7909, a bill that would have DEPORTED these criminals.”

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) announced on Wednesday, “BREAKING → 158 House Democrats just voted AGAINST requiring the deportation of illegal immigrants who assault women in the United States. Sickening. This is who they are.”

Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.) also slammed the Democrats who opposed the bill. He wrote, “It’s disappointing that 158 of our colleagues on the Left voted against the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act. I proudly voted YES to pass this critical legislation, which ensures that illegal aliens convicted of sex offenses or domestic violence will be denied entry and immediately deported.”

“In the last three and a half years, we’ve witnessed horrific, preventable crimes against women and children committed by illegal aliens. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue—enough is enough.”

“By voting against deporting illegal immigrants who commit violence against women, you are complicit in committing violence against women,” Mace declared.

“As a rape survivor, I know the lasting emotional scars and trauma. The blood and scars of attacks from illegal immigrants are on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s hands. #HR7909,” Mace wrote.
