REPORT: Homeowner opens fire on intruders who broke in during the night

From ABC15 Arizona: Police are investigating an apparent home invasion that left one suspect injured early Monday morning.

Phoenix police say officers were called to a home near 51st and Southern avenues to investigate shots fired after 1 a.m.

A man was found outside the home with at least one gunshot wound, and he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.


According to the report, a number of armed individuals broke into the home in the middle of the night, and the resident opened fire on them, hitting one of the intruders.

The remaining suspects then fled.
