REPORT: Feds bust hundreds of truckers who can’t speak English in nationwide crackdown as crashes mount

From Fox News: Federal transportation officials nabbed hundreds of truckers found not to be proficient in English, as otherwise routine stops at weigh stations led to thousands of violations amid a three-day national crackdown.

The latest iteration of Operation SafeDRIVE (Distracted, Reckless, Impaired, Visibility Enforcement) ran from Jan. 13–15 on trucking corridors in 26 states and the District of Columbia and removed nearly 2,000 unqualified truckers and other drivers from the road, USDOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) told Fox News Digital.

The news comes just days after a Kyrgyz national caused a deadly wreck after he failed to brake for stopped traffic on a state road in Jay County, Indiana, crossed the median and slammed into oncoming traffic.

Bekzhan Beishekeev illegally used the Mayorkas-era CBP-1 app to enter the U.S. in 2023 and was later issued a CDL by PennDOT, leading DHS officials to lambast Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, who in turn blamed Secretary Kristi Noem’s federal database management.

Shapiro fired back against the DHS, claiming it’s not Pennsylvania’s fault that Beishekeev was given a commercial driver’s license.

“Since @DHSgov is once again trying to politicize a tragedy, let’s set the record straight here. Every commercial driver’s license issued by PennDOT is cleared by the federal SAVE database… administered by Kristi Noem. This person had legal status in Noem’s database when the license was issued, and actually still shows as eligible to receive a license *as of today.*. @Sec_Noem — you should probably get your own shop in order, because your operational failures seem to match the scale of your moral failures,” Shapiro raged.

(In reality, since he entered during the Biden administration, it is very likely it was the Biden administration’s DHS who gave the man legal status, and not the Trump administration.)

Fox News further explained:

Operation SafeDRIVE conducted more than 8,200 inspections that led to 704 drivers being taken off the road and out of service. About 500 of those truckers were penalized for failing English proficiency standards.

There were 1,231 total vehicles stripped of their roadworthiness and 56 people were arrested, including several for DUI/DWI and illegal presence in the United States.

Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy, who has fought against illegal aliens being given commercial driver’s licenses, reacted in fury to the crash caused by the foreign truck driver. He wrote:

@FMCSA is on-site investigating the carrier who put this unfit and unvetted truck driver behind the wheel of a semi resulting in the deaths of four Amish men in Indiana. There MUST be accountability for the community of Bryant, Indiana who are devastated by the loss of their loved ones.

What we know:

1️⃣ The Biden admin INVITED illegals like Bekzhan Beishekeev to flood our borders
2️⃣ Biden’s ‘catch and release’ policy ALLOWED him into our country
3️⃣ Pennsylvania issued him a NON-DOMICILED license
4️⃣ Four innocent people are DEAD because of Beishekeev’s reckless driving

I will continue to demand we shine a spotlight on these preventable tragedies and pray for the beautiful Amish community 🙏🏻
