From the New York Post: Ex-MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan deleted what he called a “poorly worded” post on X that sparked outrage on Tuesday after two people died in a plane crash at Georgia’s Covington Airport east of Atlanta.
The left-wing talking head claimed he posted “Make American Planes Crash Again” in an attempt to mock the “Make America Great Again” slogan and to highlight the spate of recent fatal plane crashes under the Trump administration.
But Hasan drew swift backlash and quickly deleted the post.
Posting a screenshot of his deleted post, Hasan then tried to justify it. He wrote:
I deleted this sarcastic quote-tweet because MAGA and Islamophobic folks are clipping it out of context and trying to ridiculously suggest I’m inciting violence. I was obviously mocking the MAGA slogan ‘Make America… Again’ slogan and highlighting the shocking number of plane crashes under Trump and the FAA cuts.
But this tweet was in poor taste, poorly worded, and has allowed people in bad faith to call me a terrorist, with one New York Post reporter cc-ing the FBI. So I deleted it.
Meanwhile, the right wants to silence all journalists while crying ‘free speech!’
He then turned off comments to his post, after claiming that the right wants to silence journalists.

Robert Silverman, Editor-in-Chief of Jerusalem Strategic Tribune, fired back, “Gee, @mehdirhasan, you worked for Al Jazeera, which literally embeds journalists with terrorists in Gaza and before that with insurgents in Iraq, and is owned by the State of Qatar, which literally hosts internationally designated terrorist organizations like Hamas – and when you call for American planes to crash, you get upset when it gets noticed. “I was just kidding” isn’t quite enough for some of us. Smart people don’t celebrate fatal air accidents; but then smart people aren’t associated with Al Jazeera.”

Mehdi Hasan deleted this tweet because it exposes that he is an extremist.
It would be a shame if it went viral. pic.twitter.com/yaT58gE6ac

Asra Nomani sounded the alarm. She wrote:
As a journalist, I have been reporting on the insidious tactics of Mehdi Hasan for over a decade, and he is a key character in my book, #WokeArmy, about the network of Islamists working with leftists to destroy the West and now also Israel and India.
In the world of malign foreign influence, @mehdirhasan should have to register with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registry Act (FARA).
He is not a journalist; he is a Qatar-paid propagandist.
He works for Al-Jazeera, is paid by the Islamist government of Qatar and is a paid propagandist for the ruling family of Qatar, which DENIES citizens and journalists ANY free speech rights.
He moved to America from the UK, where he was a renowned homophobic extremist. He came here and had been exploiting our freedoms to push Qatar’s anti-West, anti-Israel, anti-Jew propaganda.
He is a leader in the @OIC_OCI campaign, started in 2005, to use “Islamophobia” to deflect from any responsibility for Islamic extremists. He is also a leader in the anti-India, anti-Hindu campaign of his Islamist bosses in Qatar.
Cue up Mehdi’s next move: he will claim the @JDVance criticism of him is “Islamophobic” and “racist.”
