REPORT: Epstein ‘co-conspirators’ mentioned in newly dropped files brings heat to DOJ

From Washington ExaminerThe Department of Justice is under pressure to release more information after documents released in the latest trove of Epstein documents revealed it was investigating ten alleged co-conspirators of the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Tuesday saw the release of nearly 30,000 documents related to Epstein, many of which contained “sensationalist” claims that the department warned against taking at face value. Within the trove, however, were internal communications within the DOJ that revealed the department was investigating 10 other possible co-conspirators in 2019.

The main document in question was a partially redacted internal DOJ communique sent on July 9, 2019, requesting information about the co-conspirators. The message gave many details about the alleged affiliates of Epstein.

“Of the 10 co-conspirators, 3 have been located in FL and served GJ subpoenas; 1 in Boston, 1 in NYC, and 1 in CT were located and served. 4 of the 10 are outstanding with attempts having been made. 1 is a wealthy business man in Ohio, a lead is being sent to CV; the remaining 3 are currently out of pocket. The team … is flying out tonight/tomorrow to various locations in Florida to interview approximately 25 victims,” the message said.

The FBI has no credible information that the individual trafficked girls to anyone other than themselves, according to testimony by FBI Director Kash Patel earlier in the year.

But critics are now questioning the FBI’s statement and demand further information. Congressional Democrats are leading the calls for more information from the DOJ regarding potential co-conspirators, and activists have demanded the immediate impeachment of Patel, saying he lied under oath.

“Buried in the Epstein files is an email disclosing the Department of Justice was looking into at least ten potential Jeffrey Epstein co-conspirators. The Department of Justice needs to shed more light on who was on the list, how they were involved, and why they chose not to prosecute. Protecting possible co-conspirators is not the transparency the American people and Congress are demanding,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a statement.
