From Fox News: Elon Musk has confirmed that SpaceX’s Starship will head to Mars at the end of 2026. The ship will be carrying Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot. The tech billionaire said that if all goes well, humans could be on the red planet by 2029, although he admitted that 2031 is more likely.
The X account for Optimus replied to Musk’s announcement with just two words: “Hold on.”
“Starship is the world’s most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, capable of carrying up to 150 metric tonnes fully reusable and 250 metric tonnes expendable,” SpaceX writes on its website. In US tons, that is up to 165 tons of fully reusable and up to 275 tons expendable.
Hold on

“Mars probably had liquid oceans a long time ago, before it cooled. Now, there are vast fields of ice covered by red dust. If we warm up the planet, the oceans will return and the atmosphere will densify, making it possible to extend life to Mars,” Musk speculated.

“Even if we fail at creating a Mars colony that can grow without continuous support from Earth, the absurdly ambitious nature of the goal nonetheless results in the creation of alien-level technology that is crushingly better than competitors who merely aim for Earth orbit,” Musk wrote in November.
