From Breitbart: A few Senate Democrats are lobbying President Joe Biden to get as many migrants into the United States as possible and ensure they stay indefinitely before he leaves office and President-elect Donald Trump enters the White House.
This week, Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), and Alex Padilla (D-CA) sent a letter to Biden asking him to reward large groups of illegal aliens and other migrants in the U.S. with immigration benefits before he exits office next month.
“In addition to supporting strong border security, we are eager to ensure that DACA recipients, TPS holders, and other immigrants who are critical members of our communities and economies are not forgotten during this busy time,” the Senators write.
In particular, the Senators want Biden to allow hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to extend their status for the maximum length of time that is allowed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Similarly, the Senators are asking Biden to extend and redesignate several countries for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) so that newly arrived migrants from such countries can stay in the U.S. while those already in the U.S. can stay even longer than currently granted.
Padilla announced in a social media post, “With repeated threats of mass deportations, Trump has made it no secret that his Administration will target long-term residents. That’s why @CortezMasto, @SenatorLujan, and I are calling on @POTUS to act to protect Dreamers and those eligible for Temporary Protected Status.”

Luján also shared a copy of the letter and wrote, “I joined my colleagues

To reinforce the effort, Cortez Masto has gone on a media blitz. She hopped on MSNBC for an interview and called for Joe Biden to protect the illegal aliens.
Sharing a video of the interview, she wrote, “President Biden has the ability to take action now that protects TPS holders, DACA recipients, and hardworking families who’ve spent years contributing to our communities. I’m calling on him to finish that work and give immigrant families the certainty they’re counting on.”

“That means ensuring qualified communities get critical Temporary Protected Status to keep their families safe from violence and natural disasters. And, it means prioritizing DACA renewals so that Dreamers who grew up in America don’t have to fear being torn away from their lives,” Cortez Masto continued.
“This is about protecting the hardworking individuals who have lived here for decades – as doctors, teachers, firefighters – as central parts of our communities. That’s why President Biden needs to act today and do what’s right for Nevada and families across this country,” she added.

The Democrat senator doubled down on Thursday, writing, “The Temporary Protected Status program keeps families safe from being forced to return to countries where horrific violence and natural disasters would put their lives in immense danger. I’m pushing @POTUS to reinforce this program and protect immigrant families in Nevada.”

Cortez Masto made another push in a CNN interview Thursday, declaring, “Dreamers were brought to this country as children. America is their home, and they deserve to continue to build their lives and stay with their families. That’s why I’m pushing the Biden Admin. to quickly process DACA renewals and give Dreamers the peace of mind they deserve.”
