From Breitbart: Rep. Shri Thanedar, an India-born Democrat from Michigan, is calling America “racist” as the debate over the importation of foreign workers grows.

Thanedar, who was born in Belgaum, Karnataka, India, is taking the “racism” position by claiming America is rife with Hinduphobia, and recently sponsored a resolution in congress to condemn racism in America.

“Racism in America is still alive and well, and we must stand up to it together,” he wrote in a December 30 post on X.

“Just read the replies to any recent post that includes “H-1B” to see the deplorable rhetoric targeting Indian Americans,” he said, adding, “That’s why I introduced a bipartisan resolution condemning all Hinduphobia.”

Thanedar, 69, came to the U.S. in 1979 as a college student, and became a U.S. citizen in 1988. Currently a Democrat, he was previously a member of the Democrat Socialists of America, but reportedly denounced them in 2023. Thanedar ran for governor of Michigan in the 2018 Democrat primary. He was elected to U.S. Congress in the 2022 midterm election.

On December 27, Thanedar weighed in on the H-1B visa debate, writing in a post on X, “As a member of Congress, I’ve pledged to work across the aisle. Unfortunately, the H1-B visa discourse has been hijacked by MAGA racism and xenophobia. Attracting legal, talented immigrants to the United States benefits everyone, and the system must be streamlined and reformed.”

In a post on December 29, Thanedar called for MORE  foreign workers.  He wrote:

As an immigrant myself, the H1-B issue is close to my heart. By increasing H1-B visas and streamlining the H1-B and greencard process, America maintains our edge on innovation & discovery. Reform of legal, skill-based immigration creates economic growth and more American jobs.

I would be happy to collaborate with @elonmusk and @VivekGRamaswamy if they are truly serious about solving our broken immigration system.

Indian-Americans are gaining a foothold in U.S. Congress.

On January 3, Rep. Ami Bera (D-Calif.), who was born in America to parents who immigrated from India, cheered i a social media post, “When I was first sworn in twelve years ago, I was the sole Indian American Member of Congress and only the third in U.S. history. Now, our coalition is six strong! I am excited to welcome even more Indian Americans to the halls of Congress in the years to come!”

Thanedar is being pounded on social media over his “Hinduphobia” allegations.
