Progressives are well on their way to hijacking the Democratic Party.
From Politico: David Hogg is trying to make nice with Democratic Party leaders.
The organization he co-founded, Leaders We Deserve, donated $100,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Thursday, according to a person familiar with the donation and granted anonymity to discuss it. It’s an olive branch, but a tiny fraction of the $20 million the Democratic National Committee vice chair vowed this week to put toward primaries against safe-seat incumbents — a push he isn’t backing down from.
The donation to the DCCC, which generally doesn’t get involved in safe seats, comes after Hogg ignited a firestorm of criticism in the party by announcing his plans to oust Democratic incumbents, an unprecedented move for a party officer. Many in the party had criticized the effort as running counter to the DNC’s credibility as a neutral arbiter.
Hogg, 25, a gun control activist who started the March For Our Lives organization after the 2018 Parkland, Florida school shooting, has announced he intends to help elect younger leaders into Congress in deep-blue seats, as well as donating money to help flip the House to Democrat control.
He claims he will not target Democrats in “purple districts.”

Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna of California praised Hogg, writing, “I just spoke to @davidhogg111 who is doing incredible work. He is supporting every frontline Dem & dems for state rep while also giving new candidates a chance to run in safe seats where we need change. Dems should embrace a new generation of leadership & competition!”

Meanwhile, Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) posted a “recruitment” video on Sunday and declared, “We need people in every part of this country to launch progressive campaigns that represent the needs of the working class. If you have ever considered running for office, now is the time.”
