From the Daily Caller: Democratic Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is facing scrutiny after a bombshell 7News I-Team investigation revealed her office failed to properly disclose funding sources for a series of lavish trips.
Despite Bowser’s repeated claims that her domestic and international travels are part of economic development efforts, public records raise alarming questions. Bowser’s administration reportedly has no expense filings on record for trips to the Masters Tournament, Las Vegas, Miami, Mar-a-Lago, Dubai, or Doha, even though several of these outings appear to have been paid for by third-party entities, including foreign nations and private organizations, according to 7News.
ABC 7 reporter Scott Taylor is the D.C. reporter who busted the case wide open. Taylor announced in a post on X Monday:
EXCLUSIVE: The nation of Qatar paid $61,930 in travel expenses for @MayorBowser & 4 staff members in 2023 for a trip to the Middle East. The Mayor’s Office said the trip was covered by DC’s Chamber of Commerce which wasn’t true and then it said it was paid by the U.S. Conference of Mayors which was also not true.
After my investigation exposed the truth Bowser is now asking Qatar to give her office receipts for the trip because she never filed them with the District.
I also discovered her office is asking Qatar to sign a Donation Agreement two years after the trip. Something that according to the Mayor’s memorandeum was suppose to be done before she ever left for the trip.
DC Code says there are penalties if something like this happens in the district so 7 News wants to know why can the mayor try and put the toothpaste back in the bottle and not be held accountable?

What does Mayor Bowser have to say about all of this… so far no response to our multiple questions.
