From Fox Business: Nearly 150 unauthorized workers have been accounted for among three businesses in Colorado following workplace audits, resulting in more than $8 million in fines.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said its Denver office issued a notice of intent to fine CCS Denver, Inc.; PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems, Inc.; and Green Management Denver.
The fines are a result of “widespread employment eligibility violations,” ICE said.
The fines were distributed to the companies as follows:
- $6,186,171 – CCS Denver: 100% violation rate with 87 illegal workers
- $1,599,510 – PBC Commercial Cleaning System: 74% violation rate with 12 illegal workers
- $ 270,195 – Green Management Denver: 100% violation rate with 44 illegal workers
Former Field Office Director for ICE John Fabbricatore reacted, suggesting, “Go through every business in Denver County and fine every single one in violation. If you want to be a sanctuary city, pay the price.”
