REPORT: Charlie Kirk Mentor Dies In Freak Accident

From the Daily Caller: Jeff Webb, a man seen as a “mentor” to the late Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, died Thursday at the age of 76 from a pickleball accident.

Varsity Spirit, the cheerleading organization founded by Webb, announced that Webb suffered from severe head trauma after falling during a pickleball game two weeks before his death. His family eventually decided to take him off life support.

Webb was a conservative political activist and close confidant to Kirk, who died from a gunshot wound to the neck on Sept. 10, 2025. He frequently spoke about Kirk’s impact following the assassination, and once said the nation lost a potential future president.

“We may have lost a future president. Charlie Kirk had it all—charisma, faith, respect for everyone… Now, in his absence, tens of thousands of new chapters are rising. His legacy is just beginning,” Webb told Real America’s Voice in September.

Below is the interview as Webb spoke out about Kirk’s death in September.

The Daily Caller notes that Webb had attended the White House Rose Garden ceremony in October where President Donald Trump posthumously awarded Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Varsity Spirit, the organization Webb founded in 1974, paid tribute to him in an Instagram post last Thursday.

“Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Jeff Webb, founder of Varsity Spirit and modern cheerleading. His impact has built a community that will continue to inspire generations to come,” Varsity Spirit wrote.

Turning Point USA also paid tribute to Webb, writing on X, “In memory of Jeff Webb. A visionary who helped shape generations of young leaders and believed deeply in the power of community and country. A dear friend to Turning Point USA and Charlie. He will be greatly missed.”

Tyler Bower of Turning Point Action wrote, “America lost a giant of a man today in Jeff Webb. He has been a board member of Turning Point PAC and undisputed legend in American athletics. He will be sorely sorely missed by all of us here at @TPAction/@TPUSA. He has been a great friend to us all.”
