NO HALF-MEASURES: Argentina sends message to Maduro regime allies seeking refuge

From Fox NewsArgentina is moving quickly to tighten its stance following the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, with officials making clear the country will not serve as a refuge for anyone tied to his regime.

Argentina’s Ministry of National Security said new migration measures are being implemented to block entry for Venezuelan officials, military members, business figures and others linked to Maduro. The ministry said the goal is to prevent collaborators from using Argentina as a safe haven in the aftermath of Maduro’s capture.

President Javier Milei went further, celebrating what he called the fall of a “narcoterrorist dictatorship” and framing the moment as a clear moral divide between democracy and authoritarianism. Milei said Argentina is prepared to help support a peaceful transition to a free and democratic Venezuela.

In a post on X, Milei wrote, “On historic days like today, we can truly see what some leaders and opinion makers are made of.

“On one side is democracy, the defense of life, freedom, and property. Those values that many claim to defend but only uphold when it suits them.

“On the other side are those accomplices of a narcoterrorist and bloody dictatorship that has been a cancer for our region, sowing the disease of 21st Century Socialism, with its consequent misery and death.

“Here there are no half-measures or grays. You are either on the side of GOOD, or on the side of EVIL. And all those who today do not defend the cause of freedom tooth and nail are part of the problem and not the solution.

“We celebrate the fall of the narcoterrorist dictator Maduro. Argentina is ready to help in the transition to a free, democratic, and prosperous Venezuela.

“LONG LIVE FREEDOM, DAMN IT…!!!”

In an official statement issued by Milei, he said:

City of Buenos Aires, January 3, 2026 – The Office of the President celebrates the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro by the government of the United States of America.

The socialist regime led by Nicolás Maduro is currently the greatest enemy of freedom on the continent, fulfilling a role similar to that of Cuba in the 1970s, exporting communism and terrorism throughout the region.

Among its operations, it has interfered in elections in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Bolivia; it has employed infiltration strategies in several countries of the continent through mass migration attacks; it has developed alliances with various progressive NGOs to promote the radical left worldwide; it has strengthened ties with Iran and Hezbollah; it has provided logistical support to Hamas and guerrilla groups in Colombia; and all of this has been financed with drug trafficking proceeds derived from the Cartel of the Suns, an organization that was declared a terrorist group by this Government on August 26.

With the fall of Maduro, the President of the Nation, Javier G. Milei, expresses his support for the authorities legitimately elected by the Venezuelan people in the 2024 elections, and especially for President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia, so that they may finally exercise their constitutional mandate in accordance with the popular will expressed at the polls, also highlighting the leadership of María Corina Machado, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, in the defense of democracy and freedom in Venezuela.

The Republic of Argentina trusts that these events represent a decisive step forward against the narcoterrorism affecting the region and, at the same time, will usher in a new era that allows the Venezuelan people to fully recover democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights, and put an end to the oppression exercised for years by the authoritarian socialist regime led by Maduro.

Finally, President Javier G. Milei reaffirms his commitment to the safe return of Argentine citizen Nahuel Gallo, who is still being held in arbitrary detention and subjected to enforced disappearance, and reiterates that the Venezuelan regime is internationally responsible for his physical integrity and personal safety.

Argentinian officials emphasized that their position is one rooted in defending freedom, democracy, and regional security.

It said it will not tolerate people associated with Maduro’s rule.
