REPORT: AOC pulls in massive fundraising haul in first quarter, smashing record

Democrat socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is frequently mocked by conservatives, but her ability to influence those on the left with her radical rhetoric should not be under-estimated for one minute.

The progressive ‘Squad’ rep is pulling in record crowds, and shattering records with her fundraising efforts.

From the Washington Examiner: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had the largest fundraising quarter of her political career, hauling in nearly $10 million across the first three months of the year as she tours the country with left-wing Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Ocasio-Cortez, who represents a solid-blue district in New York, handily outraised almost every House member last cycle, including those in the most competitive seats. She came in as the seventh-highest fundraiser, funneling more than $15 million into her war chest.

The $9.6 million she’s raised so far this year came from 266,000 individuals who donated an average of $21, with 64% being first-time donors, according to her campaign manager. The total more than doubles her last fundraising record for a single quarter.

AOC’s campaign manager and senior advisor, Oliver Hidalgo-Wohlleben, announced on X at noon Tuesday:

News: AOC had her strongest ever quarter, raising over $9.5m from 266k individual donors for an average of just $21. AOC doesn’t take a dollar from lobbyists or corporate PACS. Our top donor professions are teachers and nurses. 64% were first time contributors.

I want to personally thank everyone who chipped in. These resources support a year round organizing presence in NY-14 and host rallies across the country in places like Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. It also means we are not beholden to any lobbyist, corporation, or billionaire.

AOC, 35, then added, “I cannot convey enough how grateful I am to the millions of people supporting us with your time, resources, & energy. Your support has allowed us to rally people together at record scale to organize their communities. All with an avg donation of $21. THANK YOU & Pa’lante 🙏🏽♥️.”

Ocaso-Cortez and fellow socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders are crisscrossing the country, holding rallies and especially targeting swing states where President Trump won in November. They’re calling it the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.

The two held a rally in Nampa, Idaho on Monday. The rally was held in the Ford Idaho Center arena, which has a capacity of 12,500… and the place was packed.

“We’re here to flip this state!” Ocasio-Cortez declared.

The day before, they held a rally in Salt Lake City, Utah, before an estimated crowd of 20,000 people.

Thousands also turned out on Tuesday to hear the two socialists speak in Bakersfield, California.

Another rally is scheduled Tuesday evening at the Folsom Lake College Campus in Folsom, California, just outside of Sacramento.

A long line of supporters has already formed, waiting for the event.
