RED FLAG ALERT: Dem candidate James Talarico promotes bizarre ideas about God and the Bible

2

From the Daily Caller: Democratic state Rep. James Talarico of Texas has offered some off-the-wall comments regarding the Bible and God on multiple occasions during his political career.

Talarico, a former public school teacher who is currently attending a Presbyterian seminary, defeated Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for the party’s nomination for the United States Senate seat held by Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas. Talarico’s comments included arguing that “God is nonbinary” and that the Bible justified abortion

“In committee, I listened to 15 hours of testimony about this bill. The worst part, for me, was the number of Christians who used scripture to justify hurting children. Even on this floor today, a member tried to justify a hateful amendment in the name of God’s law,” Talarico claimed during a 2021 debate in the state Legislature on legislation to restrict child sex change operations.

Talarico, 36, is not married and has no children. He is a staunch supporter of LGBTQ rights and “gender-affirming care” for children.

Posting a video of his comments in Instagram on October 15, 2021, Talarico had written, “Texas Republicans have passed their anti-trans bill. Over and over Christians used scripture to justify bullying trans kids. I told them in my faith, God is non-binary.”

The Instagram post includes three videos, in which Talarico made bizarre comments about God, and his support for transgender treatment for children, while attempting to twist scripture in the Bible to support his stance and touting his “moral” values.

“So, let’s talk about that,” Talarico says in one video. “The first two lines of the Bible, the first two lines of Genesis, use two different Hebrew words to describe God. One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity, the second is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit. God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. God is nonbinary.”

In January 2024, Talarico slammed Texas Republicans for asking that the Ten Commandments be displayed in all public schools.

“There’s nothing Christian about Christian Nationalism,” Talarico sneered while sharing the post.

In a conversation in January, Talarico claimed, “I have met so many Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics who are more Christ-like than some of the Christians I serve with.”

Talarico appeared on the Joe Rogan podcast in July 2025, and declared the Bible is pro-choice, because he claimed the angel asked Mary for consent before God made her the mother of Jesus.

“You cannot force someone to procreate,” he claimed in his wild interpretation which he used to defend abortion.

In an appearance on the Stephen Colbert show last moth, Talarico wildly claimed, “For 50 years, the religious right convinced our fellow Christians that the most important issues were abortion and gay marriage — two issues that aren’t mentioned in the Bible.”

In another interview on the Bill Maher show, Talarico once again twisted the scriptures. He claimed:

As a Christian, I was taught that we’re supposed to follow Jesus’ two commandments — love God and love neighbor. There was no exception to that second commandment.

Love thy neighbor regardless of race or gender or sexual orientation or immigration status or religious affiliation.

In Texas, I’m constantly battling Christian nationalism — a bill that forces every public school teacher to put up a poster of the 10 Commandments, a bill that replaces school counselors with untrained chaplains, a bill that would have taught Christian Bible stories as historical fact to our youngest students. And I always speak up on behalf of my Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, agnostic, and atheist neighbors. Because we as Christians are called to love them as ourselves, and forcing my religion down their throats is not love.

During a debate with Rep. Jasmine Crockett in January, Talarico said, “Our southern border should be like our front porch, there should be a giant welcome mat out front, and a lock on the door.”

He called to “build a pathway to citizenship for those neighbors making us richer and stronger.”

Last month, Rev. Jordan Wells described Talarico as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He posted the following warning:

James Talarico: Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing Exposed! (Matt 7:15)**
This self-proclaimed Christian Texas Senate candidate twists Scripture to push woke theology — claiming atheists are more “Christ-like” than real Christians & declaring God is “nonbinary.” Pure deception deceiving the masses! Wake up, Church!

We’re in the end-times war against “woke Christianity” — the exact false teaching Jesus warned about. Talarico purposely perverts God’s Word:

– Bible condemns **murder** — abortion **is** murder.
– Jeremiah 1:5: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” Life starts in the womb!
– Genesis 1:27: God created them **male and female**. Two genders** — not a spectrum.

Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14) — and that’s this Senate hopeful rewriting Scripture with fake “love & compassion” that denies truth.

God is love, but love is Jesus — who is **Truth** (John 14:6). True love doesn’t affirm sin like transgenderism, which defies God’s procreation design and biology.

Sad that Texas mega-churches and pastors stay silent as this apostate corrupts the Gospel. Time to expose the wolves! Mark & avoid false teachers like **James Talarico**.
