New York City Mayor Eric Adams and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo are plotting their next moves, after Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani defeated them both in the Democrat primary for mayor of America’s largest city.

From the New York Post: New York City Mayor Eric Adams blasted Zohran Mamdani as a “snake oil salesman” after the millennial socialist’s shocking victory over three-term ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in Tuesday’s mayoral primary.

“He was saying anything to get elected,” Adams, who will face the 33-year-old on an independent ticket in November’s general election, said on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning.

He accused Mamdani of running on quixotic progressive promises he can’t keep.

Among his proposals are to freeze rents for regulated apartments, subsidize free buses and child care and to open city-run grocery stores.

The laundry list of proposals — estimated to cost $10 billion— will be paid for by taxing the Big Apple’s ultra-wealthy, Mamdani said throughout his campaign.

Adams suggested it’s time to unite against Mamdani.

“What NYC deserves is a mayor who’s proud to run on his record—not one who ran from his record, or one who has no record. We deserve a mayor who will keep driving down crime, support our police, fight antisemitism, and stand up for working-class New Yorkers. It’s time to unite. It’s time to fight. We have a city to save,” he wrote Tuesday night.

Cuomo concedes in Democratic primary but doesn’t rule out November run
From Fox Business: Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo might have conceded in Tuesday night’s New York City Democratic primary, but he may not be out of the race just yet.

“I spoke with the former governor, and he told me he is not ruling out running again in November,” Maria Bartiromo, host of “Mornings with Maria,” said during her show’s open on Wednesday.

While the Associated Press had yet to project a winner early Wednesday morning, Cuomo saw the writing on the wall, telling supporters at an election night gathering that Zohran Mamdani “won.”

“Mamdani, who once said he would have Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he came to New York,” Bartiromo further reacted, “and who has long pushed for defunding the police, will be the Democrat candidate in November in the mayor’s election.”

Meanwhile, Republican Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, is running for NYC mayor on the GOP side, and some are urging both Cuomo and Adams to step aside instead of further dividing the vote in the General Election, which they say would only ensure Mamdani’s victory.

Former NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind released a video message Tuesday night, saying, “For the future of NYC I call on Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams to drop out of the General Election. NYC must unite to defeat the Dangerous Anti Semite Mamdani.”

On Monday, ahead of the primary election, Sliwa warned, “Andrew Cuomo ruled like a king and left New York in ruins. Now he wants a second chance and acts like none of it was his fault. We don’t need a king. We need a People’s Mayor. I will always fight for you.”

Sliwa also released the following ad, saying he is the one who will improve New York City.

In a hard-hitting wake-up call, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) posted an AI-generated image of the Statue of Liberty wearing a burqa, referring to the very real possibility now that New York may soon have its first Muslim mayor.

DMLNewsApp founder Dennis Michael Lynch shared the same image on Facebook and wrote, “What starts in NYC will spread, be it a germ or a political movement. A Muslim socialist will soon be running the biggest city in the world, let that sink into your brain.”

In another post, DML shared a screenshot of a previous post by Mamdani, in which he claims the NYPD is “racist, anti-queer, and a major threat to public safety.”

If elected mayor, Mamdani will then have control over the NYPD.

DML warned, “This will be the next mayor of NYC. This is the result of mass immigration unvetted. You thought DeBlasio was bad? Thought Adams was just as bad? This dude will DESTROY whatever is remaining. NYC will be London. If NYC was a stock, I’d short it with everything I have. (Short means bet against it).”

“Zohran Mamdani wins NYC Dem mayoral primary. The take over plan is happening in front of our eyes, I have warned of this for 20 years and nobody listened. NYC is about to become London on steroids,” DML said in another post.
