DMLNewsApp founder and podcast host Dennis Michael Lynch has released a statement on social media, in response to President Donald Trump’s firing of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
Trump said he has chosen Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma to replace Noem. The transition is set to take place on March 31. Mullin will have to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
The president said Noem “will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida.”
DML responded with the following statement:
The Misstep of Ousting Secretary Noem
While I respect Senator Markwayne Mullin and believe he can serve effectively, Trump ousting DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was a strategic mistake that should never have happened.
Her reassignment today to Special Envoy for “Shield of the Americas” is to apoease Democrats, RINOs, and the media. The new role is nonsence, and a weak way of not embarrassing her or the administration, yet no matter how you slice it, it still hands a clear victory to Democrats and retiring Republican Senator Thom Tillis who demanded her resignation.
Trump is starting to show cracks in his immigration efforts. He needs to stop this slide — stop the bleeding as immigration has been his brightest win to date. By pulling out of Minnesota after the ICE shootings and subsequent paid-for riots, then removing Noem, the optics scream that President Trump is mishandling ICE and deportations. In short: Bad optic one: abandoning Minnesota. Bad optic two: Noem out—no matter how it’s spun.
Noem delivered real results despite relentless sabotage from activist courts, Democrat lawmakers, and paid-for rioters. Official DHS numbers confirm her success: over 675,000 formal deportations plus an estimated 2.2 million self-deportations in her first year—nearly 3 million total removals. Border encounters plunged to 50-year lows at just ~237,000 in FY2025 (lower than a single Biden month), saving taxpayers more than $13 billion.
This move of replacing Noem is a gift to Democrats and the splintered off podcasters—Owens, Carlson, and Fuentes—who are doing the RINO work by saying everything possible to tank Republican majorities in the midterms. If Dems seize both House and Senate, and impeach Trump, he will also be removed.
Trump’s real problem isn’t his DHS; it’s the inner staff and handlers who feed him misinformation instead of hard facts and tough love.
If he truly wants deportations to succeed, there is only one proven path: mandatory E-Verify nationwide. By cutting off jobs, it forces self-deportation, opens positions for Americans, lowers insurance premiums, property taxes (especially school costs), education expenses, and crime rates, while flooding the rental market and driving housing costs down. Without it, every deportation effort is dead in the water no matter who sits in the chair.
People in the WH need to be fired yesterday—Noem wasn’t one of them. There’s another female official who drops the ball daily. Until she goes, until Trump opens his eyes wider and sees the forest through the trees, our chances of success in November grow a bit dimmer by the day. There is still hope—but this move tells me he isn’t getting the support he needs internally.

Earlier on Thursday, prior to Trump announcing he had fired Noem, DML had posted the following video message:
Firing Kristi Noem from DHS is a mistake just like pulling ICE from Minnesota. The firing would provide another optic that says the handling of enforcing immigration law and deportations is a failure. When will we stop giving in to the Democrats! pic.twitter.com/PKmesKWDxM
