READ: Former county clerk Tina Peters posts message from prison, Trump makes new plea for her release

President Donald Trump has not forgotten Tina Peters, the former Colorado county clerk who is currently serving a 9-year sentence after she was declared guilty of “participating in a scheme to breach the Mesa County voting systems.”

Peters, now 70, was sentenced to 9 years in prison in October 2024 by a Democrat-appointed judge for her well-intentioned efforts to preserve records on Dominion voting machines after the 2020 election. She was indicted in March 2022 after prosecutors accused her of improperly permitting someone to copy access passwords and other files from a voting system. She is considered as a whistleblower by conservatives, and is a Gold Star mother.

Trump has been demanding that Colorado Governor Jared Polis pardon Peters and free her from prison, but Polis has refused to do so. Trump issued a token federal pardon for Peters on Dec. 11, but it is meaningless, as she was charged by the state of Colorado and not by the federal government.

An update on Peters’ X page last week reads:

TINA PETERS UPDATE: Tina Peters has been kept in isolation for weeks now after discussing conditions in the prison to an investigator.

Per prison guidelines there is a 15 day max on isolation. During this time, prison officials appeared to be in a “panic” having certain inmates working hours every day to get the facility up to regulations during the investigation directed by Civil Rights Division of DOJ. During this investigation, all girls were locked down and reportedly were not allowed to talk freely.

Since investigators have left, things appear to be back to “business as usual.” If this seems like a coverup of civil rights abuses and violation of DOC policies you are probably right. Tina Peters cell is 96 degrees today! 8th amendment!

On Christmas Day, the following message was posted by Peters:

MESSAGE FROM TINA PETERS IN PRISON ON CHRISTMAS DAY

As I sit here alone in my cell on Christmas Eve, I’m reminded of all the wonderful past holidays with friends and family. Like most, I was totally unaware of so many like me who live in the reality of prison away from their loved ones in a harsh environment like this.

Some people live life safe, hoping to avoid the pain of loss and hardship. They never learn to truly live and don’t value freedom and liberty. This prison and those in it are becoming hopeful.

They see the courage only God can give me and come up to introduce themselves or yell my name across the yard or chow hall. I blush and tap my heart. Their lives matter.

As a business owner for 32 years, when I decided to run for Mesa County Clerk, my experience told me “I can fix those wait times at the DMV.” I never expected that as an elected official, because I said “yes” to God, he would use me to reveal the most egregious secret of all time: the theft of your voice and your vote.

I’m here because I had to be punished and made an example of. They couldn’t scare me to retract what I said and forget what I saw.

I wouldn’t give in, back down, or give up. Even here and now, through you, I continue to speak out and call out those that do wrong. You must continue to stand strong. Now is the time.

As these criminals continue to be exposed, we will need good and honest Americans ready to stand up and take their places in government. Get prepared and study up to be ready to run your own government. Strive to become the next leaders this country will surely need as the dominoes continue to fall.

Thank you, Mr. President @realDonaldTrump for my pardon. We all love and admire you for your bravery and willingness to stand up to evil regardless of the cost. The cost of doing so is great, but the reward of doing what is honorable and right far outweighs the pain.

Today, we are grateful most of all for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, for God choosing a man like our great President to run this country, and for people like all of you who are willing to step up and fill the gaps.

Pray the Lord will seek fit to have me complete this mission and leave this awful place very soon. I want to move on to restoring our elections before the midterms. Please remember those that are incarcerated. There is a plan to fix this corrupt system and bring freedom, lasting freedom, to the captives.

God bless you all, treasure your family, protect liberty and freedom, live life on purpose. The time is short.

In a Truth Social post Wednesday morning, President Trump wrote:

God Bless Tina Peters, who is now, for two years out of nine, sitting in a Colorado Maximum Security Prison, at the age of 73, and sick, for the “crime” of trying to stop the massive voter fraud that goes on in her State (where people are leaving in record numbers!).

Hard to wish her a Happy New Year, but to the Scumbag Governor, and the disgusting “Republican” (RINO!) DA, who did this to her (nothing happens to the Dems and their phony Mail In Ballot System that makes it impossible for a Republican to win an otherwise very winnable State!), I wish them only the worst. May they rot in Hell.
