A Rasmussen Reports survey released this week found that likely voters are slightly more confident in former President Donald Trump’s chances of defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the November election. The survey asked respondents about their confidence levels in each candidate’s likelihood of winning.

“Regardless of who you plan to vote for, who do you think is most likely to win the presidential election?”

Answer: 45% of likely voters believe Trump will win, while 43% think Harris will, resulting in a two-point difference. Another 11% remain undecided.

Among Democrats, 76% believe Harris will win, while 16% think Trump will prevail, with 7% unsure. Similarly, 77% of Republicans expect Trump to win, 16% favor Harris, and 7% are uncertain. However, among independents, 45% are more confident Trump will win compared to 36% for Harris, with 19% undecided.

The survey, conducted September 23-25, 2024, among 1,080 likely U.S. voters, has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent. It comes as Trump gains momentum in both state and national polls.

According to Breitbart News, a recent Marist poll shows Trump leading among independent voters with 50% support compared to Harris’s 46%. The same poll also indicates that Harris lags behind President Joe Biden in support from non-white voters. These surveys come just ahead of Trump’s anticipated rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was nearly assassinated back in July.
