RARE AGREEMENT: Dem senator trolled for admitting Trump is not ‘a king’

From Fox News:

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, intended to hit President Donald Trump amid nationwide “no kings” protests, but instead Republicans argued her comment admits the flimsy case being made.

“Donald Trump is not, never will be, and has never been a king. #NoKings,” Hirono’s Saturday morning X post read as left-wing protesters marched in various anti-Trump demonstrations.

The remarks landed with rare agreement from figures on the right, though.

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, quickly mocked, “So you agree – you think your ‘no kings’ rallies are stupid…”

“Roger that!” wrote Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, wrote on X.

Others on social media noted that the 2024 November election was a “no kings” protest, and that America has been protesting kings since 1776.

Still more accounts slammed Hirono‘s comment.

“Thank you for explaining perfectly why these protests are ludicrous,” one account said.

“Wow. Thanks for reminding us that we have no king,” wrote another. “It wasn’t obvious before you spent millions of dollars organizing pointless protests.

During similar protests in October, Trump denounced the idea that he is a king.

“I’m not a king — I work my a– off to make America great,” Trump said at the time. “That’s the difference.”

Trump said the protests are “small, crazy, and totally out of touch with real Americans.”
