Jemele Hill, former ESPN pundit and now a writer for The Atlantic, criticized ex-NASCAR driver Danica Patrick for voting for Donald Trump.

Patrick announced on X that she voted for the first time, choosing Trump as he and Ohio Sen. JD Vance challenge Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for the White House.

“I made a rule for myself that if I didn’t vote I could not have an opinion about the outcome, because I didn’t earn that right,” Patrick shared on social media. “Not this time. I voted for (Trump) and I can’t wait to have him make America great again!”

Hill criticized Patrick’s decision and included a jab at white women in her response, posting the following: “Considering what they said about you as a woman driver and what Trump stands for against women, this is unhinged behavior. But good luck tho! Also, this is why a lot of people do not trust white women in this election.”

A new battleground poll revealed a gender gap in the Trump-Harris race. According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday, Harris leads Trump 49%-46% among Michigan’s likely voters. Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent Cornel West each received 1% support. Harris has an 18-point advantage among Wisconsin women, while Trump holds a 21-point lead with men.

A CNN data reporter recently suggested that White women may be the key to a Harris victory. Polls show Trump gaining support among Latino and Black voters, but White women—the largest voting bloc—are shifting away from him in battleground states, according to CNN’s Henry Enten. Trump won White women by seven points in 2020, and Republicans have held their support since 2012.
