Most of the group of progressive ‘Squad’ Democrat House representatives have posted messages on social media, following the narrowly failed assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania Saturday evening.
While perched on a rooftop of a nearby building, a 20-year-old shooter opened fire on Trump while he was speaking on stage. The gunman nearly hit Trump square in the head, which would have likely killed him. However, while speaking, Trump turned his head about the time the shot was fired, and the bullet grazed his right ear instead, leaving him with only a minor injury.
One rally attendee sitting in the stands behind Trump was hit by the gunfire, and died. Two others were also struck, and are hospitalized in critical condition.
The Democrat ‘Squad’ reps, all who have been very vocal in their hatred toward Trump, posted obligatory messages on social media about the shooting – all with one common theme – they refused to refer to Trump by name, and most didn’t even mention him in their statements at all.
Palestinian American Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) has not made any post about the shooting.
Somalian refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) only referred to the “Trump rally” but did not mention Trump himself.
“It’s sad to hear the tragedy that occurred at the Trump rally today. We must condemn acts of violence and pray for the victims. May calmness and decency prevail 🙏🏽,” Omar wrote.
She is being blasted for her statement, with some reminding of her previous “some people did something” comment regarding the 9/11 terror attack.
“The tragedy? How about saying something about Trump? Wishing he’s ok? You pure evil,” declared former police officer Brandon Tatum.

Democrat Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) did make reference to Trump, writing, “There is no place for political violence, including the horrific incident we just witnessed in Pennsylvania. It is absolutely unacceptable and must be denounced in the strongest terms. My heart goes out to all the victims and I wish the former President a speedy recovery.”

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), also acknowledged Trump as she wrote, “My thoughts are with Mr. Trump as he recovers. My deepest appreciation is extended to law enforcement for their selfless & decisive action. Political violence in all forms must be condemned.”

As for several others, they practically reacted as if the shooting did not involve Trump at all.
Black Lives Matter activist Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) wrote, “We must always collectively condemn political violence. I mourn the loss of life and pray for the families of the victims. I hope for a full recovery for everyone injured today in Butler, Pennsylvania.”

Rep. Pramilla Jayapal (D-Wash.), a far-left progressive, wrote, “The United States is a democracy. Political violence of any kind is completely unacceptable and I am horrified by the events in Pennsylvania today. Praying for all those who are injured and their families.”

Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), first wrote, “Democracy has no greater enemy than political violence. It has no place in the United States of America. We must never revert back to a period of political assassinations in America.”

In another social media post, Torres added, “The security failures surrounding the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate demand an investigation. The federal government must constantly learn from security failures in order to avoid repeating them—especially when those failures have implications for the Nation.”

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), also completely ignored Trump. He wrote, “Sending condolences to the family of the person killed at Trump’s rally. We should all be exhausted by the consistent senseless violence in our society. Political violence is abhorrent & must end. Wishing the former president a full recovery. This is a scary time for democracy.”

Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) wrote, “As we find out more about the shooting in Butler, I extend my sympathies to all the victims and extend my condolences to their loved ones. Political violence only leads to more violence—and we all must come together to condemn it.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Ct.), a socialist, did acknowledge Trump as he wrote, “Political violence is absolutely unacceptable. I wish Donald Trump, and anyone else who may have been hurt, a speedy recovery.”
