President Donald Trump has taken a 7-point lead over incumbent President Joe Biden. The EPIC-MRA poll, conducted for the Detroit Free Press, indicates Trump leading Biden 49% to 42% in a head-to-head matchup.
In a five-way race, Trump leads with 43%, Biden follows with 36%, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has 8%, and both Jill Stein and Cornel West have 2% each. The poll reveals Trump leading in every region of the state, including traditionally Democratic metro Detroit.
This voting shift follows recent events, including a disastrous debate for Democrats, an assassination attempt on Trump, and a successful 2024 RNC. Trump has more than doubled his lead in Michigan, a crucial swing state, since the last EPIC-MRA poll conducted before the June 27 presidential debate in Atlanta, where Trump led by 3 points.
This result heightens Democratic concerns and pressures on Biden to reconsider his reelection bid.
