Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) introduced a constitutional amendment to allow former President Trump to serve a third term.

The amendment proposes that a president may be elected up to three times, with a restriction against serving more than two consecutive terms. It also maintains the existing limit for individuals who have served more than two years of another president’s term.

“President Trump’s decisive leadership stands in stark contrast to the chaos, suffering, and economic decline Americans have endured over the past four years,” Ogles said in a statement. “He has proven himself to be the only figure in modern history capable of reversing our nation’s decay and restoring America to greatness, and he must be given the time necessary to accomplish that goal.”

The 22nd Amendment bars U.S. presidents, including Trump, from serving a third term. However, Trump jokingly suggested the idea to House GOP lawmakers during a meeting before their internal leadership elections. House Republicans confirmed it was a joke, but Ogles’ proposal could make it a possibility.

We want to ask you, the reader: would you support an amendment allowing Trump to run for a third term? Answer in our poll below and comment your thoughts on Ogles’ proposed constitutional amendment.
