Yesterday, on the podcast, we discussed the future of robotics, particularly autonomous systems with free-range movement and interactions.
It was inspired by the recent event in Los Angeles, We, Robot. Elon Musk put on the event to show the designs of his electric self-driving vehicles, the Robotaxi and Donovan. But it also showcased his humanoid robots, the Optimus bots.
While the bots were remote-controlled by staff, the presentation’s point was to demonstrate their intended future capabilities, such as housework and chores. Musk stated at the event that his plan is for the Optimus bots to be completely autonomous and available in a person’s home for the purchase of $20,000 to $30,000 per unit.
