Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) suggested Elon Musk as the Washington outsider for House Speaker, announcing it on X:
“The Speaker of the House need not be a member of Congress. Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk . . . think about it . . . nothing’s impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka ‘uniparty,’ lose their ever-lovin’ minds).”
Paul’s unconventional suggestion comes as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) faces conservative backlash over his rejected funding plan. President-elect Trump and Musk urged Republicans to oppose the bill, with some members questioning Johnson’s future as speaker despite Trump’s support.
We want to ask you, the reader: would you support Elon Musk for Speaker of the House? Answer in the poll below and comment your thoughts on Johnson’s controversial spending bill.
