The Paris Olympics officially begin today, marking the start of an international celebration of athletic excellence. Athletes from around the world will compete in various events, showcasing their skills and determination.
However, it’s already coming with some issues. France’s high-speed rail network has been disrupted by coordinated “malicious acts,” including arson attacks, causing significant disruption to many of the country’s busiest rail lines just hours before the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. The state-owned railway operator, SNCF, reported that arsonists targeted installations along lines connecting Paris with the west, north, and east of the country, resulting in severe traffic disruptions throughout the weekend.
Valérie Pécresse, head of the Ile-de-France region that includes Paris and its surrounding area, said: “Clearly, this attack is not a coincidence; it aimed to destabilize France at the moment the Olympic and Paralympic games are launched.”
This comes at a time when France is struggling with national rising crime due to an uncontrolled migrant crisis. Recently, an Australian tourist this week was sexually assaulted by a migrant criminal in Paris.
Migrants in Paris rob Olympic athletes
The Australian cycling team had their bikes, food and even their underwear taken from their car. Later the Argentina national team became the victim. Their watches and rings were stolen during training.
