Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate to bolster support in the Midwest. Introduced by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Harris and Walz made their first appearance together at a rally in Philadelphia, launching their battleground state tour.
Walz is known for his love of socialism, his encouragement of the 2020 George Floyd riots that plagued Minnesotan cities and towns, pro-transgender policies, and support for illegal immigrants to integrate into society without vetting or abiding by the law, such as permitting state driver’s licenses. His latest controversy was changing the state flag this year to resemble the themes of regional Somali flags.
Shortly after the announcement, Donald Trump criticized Walz, claiming he would be the worst vice president in history and accusing him of fiscal irresponsibility and lax border policies.
The campaign is now poised for a tumultuous 90-day sprint, as the odds of Harris winning seem to be better than when Joe Biden was running as the nominee.
