President-elect Donald Trump said Monday he would consider pardoning New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who faces federal fraud and corruption charges.
However, Trump admitted he wasn’t familiar with the case’s specifics. And Adams has declined to comment on a potential pardon, stating it hasn’t been discussed in their private conversations.
“Only thing we talk about is improving the city – the city that I love, the city that he loves,” Adams said in response.
Adams is accused of accepting $100,000 in luxury travel perks and illegal campaign contributions from a Turkish official and other foreign nationals seeking influence. Several members of his administration are also under investigation, including chief advisor Ingrid Lewis-Martin, who resigned Sunday. A Manhattan grand jury is expected to vote on her indictment as early as this week.
We want to ask you, the reader: should Trump pardon Mayor Adams? Answer in our poll below and comment your thoughts on the case against the NYC mayor.
