Former President Donald Trump dismissed the idea of a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris after their Tuesday night debate, claiming victory.

“She wants a second debate because she lost very badly,” Trump told ABC News during a surprise appearance. While acknowledging her call for another debate, Trump did not commit to participating, saying, “We’ll think about that.”

Shortly after Tuesday night’s ABC News debate, Harris’ campaign called for another matchup, praising her performance and criticizing Trump’s responses. When asked by ABC News why he wouldn’t commit to a second debate if she lost, Trump pointed to polling, mentioning he holds a lead over Harris.

In August, after Harris replaced Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket, Trump agreed to another NBC debate following ABC News and Fox News events. Last week, Trump participated in a Fox News town hall after Harris declined to join.
