In the past, some have proposed a program where new immigrants to the U.S. can earn naturalization by serving one to two years in the military or other forms of active service.
This initiative would provide immigrants with a pathway to citizenship while contributing to national defense and community service. Participants would receive training, education, and valuable work experience, aiding their integration into American society.
The program would also foster a sense of civic duty and patriotism among new citizens. This approach would also strengthen national security, community resilience, and social cohesion.
We want to ask you, the reader: should immigrants be mandated to serve in the military as a form of naturalization? Answer in our poll below and comment your thoughts on the proposal.
