The DNC’s first night was … strange.
Many of the speeches were lackluster in comparison to the RNC, and in some cases were more just a peddling of lies, such as one speaker claiming if Trump wins he will turn the FBI into his own personal police force (*eye roll*). It didn’t help that outside the convention was an unruly protest of Pro-Palestine activists.
The two big speakers of the night were Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. When Clinton spoke, she claimed Kamala Harris cares about kids and families, even though there were buses outside the convention offering free abortions and vasectomies.
DML even tweeted that when Clinton spoke, there was a change in the atmosphere:

When Biden took the stage, it became apparent this was going to be one of his worst gaffe-filled speeches of all time:
