Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Ohio Sen. JD Vance faced off in their only debate Tuesday night in New York City, broadcast by CBS News.
The debate occurred just hours after new allegations surfaced accusing Walz of repeatedly lying about his presence during the Tiananmen Square protests in China. The following morning, critics generally viewed Vance as the winner of the debate.
Former President Trump led Republicans in congratulating Vance’s performance in Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate.
“GREAT JOB JD — We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social app.
“Senator JD Vance spitting the cold hard TRUTH on the debate stage,” Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X. “Total domination and we are only 20 minutes in.”
