Former President Trump called for ending the tax on seniors’ Social Security income. Currently, single individuals with combined incomes over $25,000 may be taxed on up to $12,500 of their Social Security income, and those with incomes over $34,000 may be taxed on up to 85%. For joint filers, the thresholds are $32,000 and $44,000.
“SENIORS SHOULD NOT PAY TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY!” Trump announced (in all caps) through his Truth Social account Wednesday morning.
See his post below, and his announcement at his rally:
PRESIDENT TRUMP: I will not cut one cent from Social Security or Medicare. I kept that promise for 4 years, and I will keep it again.
