President Donald Trump recently announced Project Stargate at the White House, heralding it as an unprecedented initiative to bolster America’s AI infrastructure.

The project is a joint venture involving tech giants OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, with an initial investment of $100 billion set to grow to $500 billion over the next four years. The aim is to construct massive data centers across the United States to support the burgeoning demand for AI technology.

Masayoshi Son from SoftBank will serve as the chairman of Stargate, with the project promising to create over 100,000 jobs in the U.S. Trump emphasized the importance of keeping AI development within the country, highlighting competition with China in this field. The first data center under this project is already under construction in Texas, with plans to expand the network nationwide.

This move also involves revoking a previous executive order by Joe Biden that imposed safety guidelines on AI development, thereby giving Stargate freedom from national oversight but not from potential state regulations.

Trump’s announcement comes with the promise of emergency declarations to facilitate energy production necessary for these data centers. The Stargate project aims to secure America’s leadership in AI and drive innovation and economic growth in the sector.

We want to ask you, the reader: do you support Trump’s Project Stargate initiative? Answer our poll below and comment on your thoughts on Project Stargate’s plans.
