WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has arrived in Saipan ahead of a plea deal with the U.S. Justice Department that will allow him to return to Australia. His plane landed over two hours before the scheduled plea hearing, where he is expected to admit to a felony for publishing U.S. military secrets. This deal spares him prison time in the U.S. after years of incarceration in the UK while fighting extradition.

The hearing in the Northern Mariana Islands marks the dramatic end of the U.S. government’s long pursuit of Assange, a figure seen by some as a hero and others as a reckless criminal for his role in exposing sensitive military documents.

We want to ask you, the reader: do you support the release of Julian Assange? Answer in our poll below and leave a comment if you view Assange as a hero or criminal.
