In a 6-3 decision on Monday, the Supreme Court ruled in Trump v. United States that a former president has substantial immunity from prosecution for official acts committed while in office, but not for unofficial acts. The Court sent the case back to a lower court, not applying the ruling to whether former President Trump is immune from prosecution for actions related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

In a brief address Monday evening, President Biden criticized the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity in Trump v. United States, arguing it virtually removes limits on presidential actions. Speaking for just four minutes and 40 seconds, Biden then turned his back to the press and walked away.
