Republican state lawmakers are pushing the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) agenda, backed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the likely next U.S. health secretary.
Under MAHA, they aim to regulate welfare-funded candy and soda, remove fluoride from water, roll back vaccine mandates, and ban ultra-processed foods in schools. Many Americans support the movement, with social media users and even lawmakers using #RFK and #MAHA to bring attention to incoming health wins.
A policy push that would happen effectively once RFK Jr. is confirmed is removing the options of candy, snacks, and soda from food stamps and social welfare programs like SNAP.
We want to ask you, the reader: do you support removing unhealthy foods from social welfare programs? Answer in our poll below and leave a comment about RFK Jr.’s proposed health policies.
