Former Attorney General Eric Holder expressed concern on Wednesday that the Supreme Court might reach a “dangerous” decision on former President Trump’s claim of presidential immunity. This concern arises in part due to the delay in the Court’s ruling. Trump’s immunity claim pertains to federal charges related to storing classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and events surrounding the 2020 election and the January 6, 2021, Capitol protests. A decision from the Supreme Court is likely to be issued before the end of June.

Trump and his attorneys argue that former presidents have criminal immunity for official acts. However, some observers and critics, including conservative attorney George Conway, believe the court will reject Trump’s immunity claim. Conway, a frequent Trump critic, stated on CNN last week that he thinks Trump will “lose big” in this case.
