Former first lady Melania Trump released a video expressing her support for abortion rights and promoting her upcoming memoir, Melania, which will be published on October 8, just weeks before Election Day.
In the memoir, she advocates for women’s autonomy over their reproductive choices, emphasizing that decisions about having children should be made freely, without government interference or pressure. She also expressed her opinion on the matter in the released video.
“Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to these essential rights that all women possess from birth. Individual freedom. What does ‘my body, my choice’ really mean?” she said in a video posted to the social platform X.
In the memoir, she writes explicitly: “Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.”
