POLL: Do you support Israel’s attack on Iran?

6

Israel launched a major airstrike on Iran last night, targeting key nuclear and military facilities, including the Natanz nuclear enrichment site and missile production centers, in a dramatic escalation of their long-running conflict.

The attack, named Operation Rising Lion, aimed to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities, which Israel views as an existential threat. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu justified the strikes as a response to Iran’s advancing nuclear program and its support for proxy groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, which have attacked Israel. The operation killed several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Mohammad Bagheri, the military’s commander-in-chief, and nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammed Mehdi Tehranchi.

President Donald Trump and GOP figures like Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Tom Cotton, and Sen. Ted Cruz expressed support, framing the attack as a necessary act of self-defense against Iran’s aggression. However, critics, including U.S. citizens, fear Israel’s actions could drag the U.S. into another Middle East war, especially given America’s military ties with Israel.

Economic concerns in the U.S. include potential oil price spikes, with fears that strikes on Iran’s oil infrastructure could push prices above $80 per barrel, impacting costs for fuel and goods. Some analysts argue the conflict was avoidable, pointing to ongoing U.S.-Iran nuclear talks that Israel’s strikes may have undermined. They suggest diplomatic efforts could have de-escalated tensions, avoiding the risk of a broader regional war. The attack has heightened fears of Iranian retaliation, potentially destabilizing the Middle East further and straining U.S. resources.

We want to ask you, the reader: do you support Israel’s attack on Iran? Answer in our poll below and comment your thoughts on Israel striking first and the potential consequences of an all-out war.
